fog lights

the fog lights for my 99 gs call for 55w bulbs, i replaced em with ones that are 100w and i kept on blowing fuses, even when i put in a 40a fuse it would still blow, so i figured it wasnt a good idea and put the 55w lights back in but im wondering why it wont take those light bulbs.....my other car had no problem with bigger watts....does anyone have any suggestions?

there is a reason they call for a 55w, the 100w will draw too much power and keep blowing fuses or even worse melt some wires or some how fuck something up, i bet if you put the 55w in it will stop blowing fuses!!!

well i figured that much, i was just kinda testing my luck, hoping that the harness and wires could still handle the power with the 100w bulbs but ive already got the 55s back in and its all gravy......

to take the housing apart all you gotta do is take the assembly out....let me know if you dont know how to do that.......there are 3 small screws on the top side of the housing....remove those and that will give you easy access...hope that helps
