Unhappy Transmitter Problem

To anyone who can help~
I have a '97 buick park avenue and today I bought a new battery for the keyless entry transmitter. I followed the instructions of installation and attempted to reprogram the transmitter using the recomended method of holding down the LOCK + UNLOCK for 7-8 seconds and nothing happened. It is like it's dead. It was working before. But what can I do? Is the transmitter shot? Thanks for your help.

Re: Transmitter Problem

Make sure you didn't install the battery upside down. And it is 15 seconds not 8 seconds. Is that all you did was hold the lock and unlock buttons?
