I hate rattle cans!

Is there way to fix poor paint job?
I tried to coat with thin layers but anyway got this "wave-like" effect when paint in one spot much thicker
Is it possible to rub it out with sandpaper when paint cmpletely dry?

p.s. I'm getting brain damage soon in my attempts to paint this frickin model

You can rub it down, but leave it for a few weeks before you even attempt it! It will take ages to dry properly!
Start another kit!
Which kit is it you are butchering?

Oh that's 911GT3 in 3rd attempt.
First was hand job . It was looking awful and I stripped it
Second was orange peel. I probably could rub it to perfection but I screwed it up with airbrush and black_paint_masking
Third was satisfactory orange peel too. I rubbed it too much to the primer. Today I decided to cover it again to hide rubbed out spots
and it screwed again!
What's next? Purple magic in a bottle?

Today I discovered paint job was not as bad as I supposed
It need some "sandpaperwork" to hide defects but I hope not need to repaint it again (If I'll not screw it again with too much rubbing)

For how long I need do-not-touch-it with my itchy fingers?
5-7 days enough?

Looking good!

Polish with 1200 grade paper or finer!
You will need to lave it for weeks due to the heavy paint!
