Re: racing question

You wanna reach the rpm where your engine makes the most power, so if you told us what engine you have, we could probably help you out a bit better.

If he was smart he would do a search.... Y the hell do we have search engines??? are they just for decoration... judging buy his name its a 4dr civic and more or likely a D series engine so 5500 rpm is a pretty good shift point but still do some research im not a D fan B series all the way!!!!

Re: racing question

Shift right before yout tachometer reaches the part where the top turns red, called redline, that where most cars make theyre peak hp, you should shift a little past redline so when you shift to next gear youll be in higher rpms getting closer to your peak horsepower.
Lets say your car makes peak hp at 5500, and redlines at 6000. If you shift at 5500 peak hp youll drop to 4500 next gear (just an example) at 4500 your car has 100 hp. If you shift at 6000 your car will be on 115 hp and when you upshift youll be around 500 rpms higher resulting in 110 hp. You get the average of both and realize shifting at 6000 helps you, instead of shifting at your peak horsepower. I hope you understand what I mean.

Re: racing question

and actually..when i race i only use the 2nd gear..the first gear only for the tire to spin and then shirt to the 2nd ...the car will be ..woooooo..wooo. if your car..fast enough..but the real thing is ..when you shifting to 2nd gear ..you must hold your rmp between 4500- 5500 if you want to be good driver..also it takes time to learn how to hold your RPM if the release...and when you want to launch a car...first you have to hold your RMP at current point which MexSir said..and release the the gas ( acceleration) and hit it quickly again.then hold it there let the car spins the tire by itself..the hold your RPM at currrent point (betwwen 4500-5500 then hit for the 2nd gear..then you'll be fine..but it takes lot of time to pratice..if you want to be good..or you may find some other best ways to launch your car..

Correct me if i am wrong..and that is how I launch my car.

also pplz have different launching so....

All of his posts are like that. You can get pissed off and call him all the names in the book, and he'll reply with "lol" or something, totally unphazed. Here's one that kind of makes sense.. probably because it's so short http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=170516

Jos, just shift to redline.
