Looking at new pulleys
The pulley I took off is not looking so hot, so I've been looking around at different pulleys I saw one that unorthadox racing makes so I was wondering if you someone knew anything about them, I saw a pulley at their site that was $135 for one that weighs like a pound I'll give you the links show you can look at it.
http://www.unorthodoxracing.com/blowout.html search for this number 02121060_ I'm also trying to make sure it's the right part This one for $185 http://www.jscspeed.com/mk3/engine/ur_pulley.htm Thanks for any help |

Re: Looking at new pulleys
Unless your serious into HP and need the extra few lb's of rotating mass, I wouldn't. You got the right part but the stock harmonic 2 peice balancer is there for a reason, to reduce frequency's in the 400hz range. So you would be much better off finding a good condition stock crank pulley. If you want to read up on it here's a awesome write-up.

So any suggestions on where to find one, I'm gonna make a run to the local salvage yards but if I can't find one there I'm probably gonna have to fork over some major cash to the damn dealer. Since I'm not really looking too much into performance upgrades just wondered if it was a good alternative for a lower cost.
Thanks again |
