custom sub boxes

Anyone know how to make a custom fiberglass box?
I want to help my friend make custom sub boxes that will fit in the sides of the trunk. his trunk is real small and thus we are trying to make it take the least amount of space available.

i know i can use fiberglass, but how do i lay it there vertically?

thanks for the link, but how about laying fiberglass vertically? instead of making it fit the spare tire well, how about fittiing it to the sides of the trunk?

Ok, I couldn't really find exactly what you're looking for, but this is kinda close. You'd probably have to do the same thing, just not as big as they did. Start by making a wooden frame:
then put in the fiberglass

and then paint if desired

I know that probably doesn't help at all, but that's the only thing I could find.

well just practice first, and then practice some more, you'll eventually figure out how to do it.

Ummm, very easily... TAKE THE DOOR PANEL OFF! Never ever ever try to work with fiberglass INSIDE a car, unless you are talking spare tire well. Take the panel OUT of the car and work on it.

try what I said, make a wood frame and then fill it in with the fiberglass.

Thumbs up chicken wire

Hey!
I know this probably is a bit late, but I haven't been able to read the forum for a while and know I had to make a new profile...whatsoever:
A good idea is to make a frame out of wood, than staple chickenwire to it so it forms like a basket. Then you can place it on the side of your trunk, shape the chicken wire after the panels, take it out and stiffen it with resin. I haven't tried this myself but a friend of my did it and it turned out really nice!

Regards
RiceViking

As for the for the side door pannel. You make it outside of the car and let it dry and harden then put it on the car.

Common Sense.

False information yet again, the fiberglassing needs to be molded in the car while you put plastic over what you do not want to get damaged.
