Yep, another exhaust question

I have been narrowing down my choices for an exhaust and I really want a Thermal R&D, however it necks down from 3" to 2 3/8 before the cat. I want to mount this exhaust to a RRE or BR 3" downpipe. Now for the question, does anyone know of a good shop that can modify the Thermal exhaust to accomodate the RRE or BR downpipe? No cat will be used, just a straight thrugh design. If not, my other alternatives are turbo backs from rnr racing and BR. Any feed back on the latter two exhaust would be appreciated. Also, does anyone know if the VRS exhaust from slowboyracing is any good? Thanks in advance.

I wouldnt bother with the thermal fo rhte effort requried. BR exhausts are well proven. RRE sells the N1s. VSR is good as well. You really cant go wrong with any of them. The differences between them are slight. I do prefer exhausts that use the Dynomax Ultraflow (SS or Welded), which some if not all of the BR models use. Actually I think it was VSR that they actually use now. But its been a while since I last looked into BR exhaust, about a year now. The BR 2.5 uses the dynomax. The VSRs use magnaflow, which isnt bad either. Same type of muffler as the dynomax. The bends all look good, etc.

Exhaust systems dont vary much by brand when it comes to dSMs. ITs not as critical a choice as it is with NT cars where you are worried about losing toruqe, etc. It just has to flow well enough for the power you are making. Look for 3", straight through muffler, mandrel bends, and no neck downs anywhere. You wont see the power differences between the different brands like you will on NT cars.

I'll probably go with RRE dp and n1 catback.. or at least n1 style muffler and custom piping. I've never found any sound/video clips of n1 on a turbo, but I heard they sound good and are loud. If anyone has a sound clip let me know.

Re: Yep, another exhaust question

That is the setup I am going with. It will be the RRE full downpipe to the N1 exhaust setup. Thanks for the feedback everyone. I did a search on reviews for exhausts and everyone had nothing but good things to say about the N1 exhaust. It isnt' to obnoxiously loud like some others. I just want a deep mellow sound and great performance. If anyone has a sound clip of it, I would be interested in hearing it too. Thanks
