Re: yet another exhaust question
hmm, not sure on pipe diameter, but there are two cats, they bolt right onto the manifolds, up by the transmission, and then there is a Y pipe after the two cats to join the exhausts together. then back to a muffler and twin tips.

Re: yet another exhaust question
I believe the original pipe diameter is 2.5 inches, but I don't remember for sure cause it's been so long since I did anything with my exhaust...

im pretty sure that it's 2 1/2" pipe all the way, although im not sure that ALL 4th gens had dual cats, i think some of the earlier ones had only one cat, i might be thinking of the v6's though, im not sure. the stock exhuast systems on the z28's are nice but there's always room for improvment.

Re: yet another exhaust question
i thought that i heard the earlier 4th gen (93-94, maybe 95) and single cat but im definitely not sure, and 2.5" piping sounds about right. i just wanted to make sure i get the correct numbers numbers.

just thought of it, there are differences between the 93-95 within the 93-97 year bracket of the LT1, and then there are further differences between the 96 and 97, the 97 is a lot like the 98+ without the LS1 and some other little things. but the difference in this case i believe was that 93-95 was single cat and 96-97 had dual cats. im pretty sure that's what it is, someone correct me if im wrong
