Smile My biggest project ever!

I won't be starting this until next year but when it arrived in the post I was so exited I had to take some pics This seems to have been on backorder with HLJ for an eternitity but at last it's here!

This is a 1/24 Mitsubishi Fuso car carrier made by Mitsuwa Model. It's huge! I put the 1/24 Skyline there to give some sense of scale to the box. The trailer carries five cars and the whole thing is beautifully molded and very detailed. It comes with full engine detail, a tilt cab, steering and detailed suspension.

I will be building it as a Nissan car delivery truck from the 70's with 5 stock built Hasegawa Datsun Bluebird SSS sedans (510s) on the back, each one in a different factory colour. This will be the biggest project I have ever undertaken. The livery will look like this...

I think it'll take me about six months to build the whole lot as it's basically like building seven models. I took some pics of the box contents and just mocked up a few of the main parts so you can see how it'll look. I think it will just about fit in my display cabinet when it's done.. I hope so anyway!

These are two pics of it built off the side of the box...

I should be pretty good at building Hasegawa 510's by the time I'm done too

It'll probably be my vote for model of the year, 2004.

But finish the Auster first, since that thing is super mega awesome.

This sounds like a great undertaking.
I look forward to watching this progress.

I wouldn't have a place to put a huge completed peice like that.

Hehe..that's definately getting finished first. In fact I want to work on this one alone when the time comes so I've got nine models to finish before I start on it. I torture myself every time I get a new kit..I always want to start on it right there and then

That's so wicked cool. I can't wait to see it whenever you decide to start it and finish it. Projects like that have floated into my head but I decided I'd never have the patience to build the cars to go on the back. Good luck! I don't doubt your skill or patience, but this will try at least one!

Cool project! I always wanted to do a used car lot full of cars, but putting the cars on a truck sounds way better!
