Progress: SARD Supra GT - Street Car
My christmas holiday starts today so i started a new project. It's the Tamiya Sard Supra GT. I'm going to build it as a street car and as my putty skill is really limited at the moment, (+ the body of the Sard SUpra is very beautiful anyway) i won't be doing too many mods.. the only big change is removing the huge rear wing (not that there is anything wrong with the original wing, just that i'm not a big fan of huge wings) and add a small duck tail style rear wing.
Haven't decide what colour it's going to be but i'm thinking of a gold/silverish colour. It WON'T be a TFTF style car. Also just bought an airbrush so the Supra will be my guinea pig anyway, here are two very early stage pic, will post more when i got more progress. Comments welcome Merry Christmas everyone![]() |

Hi man!
I got the same project. But I will use the Castrol version. (the only differece is the front spoiler at the wheels.) I will add the engine of the street version. It will have 2 seats and NOS. Color not decided yet. Maybe Mica Red or Humbrol Baltic Blue or ... |

I did one of these a while back. You're right, the Denso Sard Supra is a great looking Supra, especially without the wing.
Here's mine. The wheels are OZ's lifted from Tamiya's Martini Alfa 155DTM kit and the color is Frosted Fuschia nail polish. Looking back on it, I probably should do another two or three coats of clear.

ok a few more progress pics:
The body shell: I've filled up a few holes/vents on the bonnet , side fender to make it more like a street car (less agreesive) and match the wing-less rear. and also reshape the tail a little bit by adding a (very) small spoiler onto it. My putty work still need to improve a lot.. even thou you may not be able to tell from the pics but the surface is not really as smooth as i want it to be. Body colour is Dupli-Color Imperial Gold Cob. Just sprayed the last wet coat yesterday. ![]() ![]() and almost finished the suspension/underbody, here is a pic: ![]() First time using an airbrush and i used it to paint the effects on the exhaust.. not perfect of course and a bit overdone in some places but overall i'm happy with my first attempt. Next is the interior.. not sure what i'm going to do but i want to try make it look like a street car so i'll want to remove the rollcage and add 2 seats to it if possible.... anyway, comments (good or bad) welcome |

It's looking great! The changes you made to the body are perfect for the street.
