Me and my buddy were having an argument with some asian kids about their friends stupid honda civic. Here's how it started... They just came up to me and my buddy one day and told us domestic cars suck. Then i said "well that's nice" and kept talking to some other people. So they told us that our cars were slow and they had a friend who had a 9-second civic. I said "yeah i know...all hondas are 9-second cars stock". But anyways i kept making fun off what he was saying....and tried not to hit him. He told us that his friends car had a full interior and exterior, and ran on street tires. Is it possible, and could you give me a link to something that will shut him up...anything. Or i might have to resort to something else

umm only 9 sec full inside street cars me know from japan are TT supras and GTR skylines. there are 9 sec civics just not on road i've seen with my 2 eyes a 10sec one (at a show) but it was just fuggin evil 600 WHP cage power windows too lol.

I agree with Tony H. Everybody has these 9 second streetable cars, but nobody ever sees them. Kinda reminds me of a Jackalope, ya know? Ask to talk to his imaginary friend. Good luck, though, because he's probably invisible just like the car.

im calling BS on street tires??? no way in hell. Think of the horesepower that would be needed to do that?

So far nobody with a honda has gone 9's on a street tire. There are a few guys going mid 10's in the 140's with civics on 15" BFG drag radials, and for 9 second cars there was jason hunt a year or two back he went high 9's @ 150 on slicks + skinnies in his full interior CRX, but thats about it as far as I know.

Very possible. So few people know what they are talking about. This dude could have overheard the civic's 0-60 time or something. I was once told about a guy with a turbo on a ricer and when I asked to see it he said "You can't see it, it's covered up down, deep under the intake manifold." True story.

i'd call b/s if he's talkin bout the 1/4. every honda with a sticker, spoiler, cold air, and a 5" borla think they could fly with a set of wings. but thats just me, if everything where up to me the world would be driving straight axle, v8 cars with lake pips and carburetors listening to little duece coupe.

9 second quartermile on street tires is B.S. Tell him you really, really like honda civics but your folks made you buy a Ford. Then ask to see it. I'm sure he'll vanish along with his friend's super-duper civic.

ive seen 9 second civics on street tires. at Raceway park in NJ they have a yearly thing called street wars and there were a few 9 sec CRX that were street legal. of course they were racing on street tires. but they probaly do on the road. and that aint b.s. u can only enter the event if ur car is street legal.

I'm not into import cars, but I watch nopi vision every now and then, and many of those guys are professional racers and race teams, racing tubbed out and jacked up 4 cylinders with slicks and pipe coming right out the side of the engine bay, and even those guys are just breaking into the 8's and 9's...

Anyone who tells you they are making sub 10 second passes on street tires with a street legal car is either on drugs or full of shit...
