When you close the drivers window it pops out! I took it to get looked at and they said it was the wheather stripping which was then replaced!
But it still does the same thing. They said it is not off track. What could it be? |

Where can I find diagrams/information on how to remove the door panel? I have heard about clips needing to be popped, but i don't want to break anything by doing this without instructions. -Bob |

Re: 1993 accord window does not close!
pretty simple to do it, remove all the screws that are hidden behind the obvious "plugs". Then I usually start at one of the corners and either use a specialized tool for popping the clips, or I usually just use a screw driver since it's closer, and pry up just a little, and then yank on the panel a bit. You don't have to be godzilla about it, but don't be afraid either. Once all that is done, you'll need to free the door handle, which I usually accomplish by just twisting the door handle a bit and sliding it through the hole (you'll see what I mean).
See if that helps, and reply with any questions. - Nathan |

Re: 1993 accord window does not close!
I had the same problem....2x. Don't worry too much about taking the door apart, I did it the first time in 15mins(maybe less?) on my 90 Ex. the problem was not htat hte window was out of hte track, but rather that the metal bars in the shape of an "x" that unfold to lift the track and then fold down again to lower it. One side of this "x" had gotten bent from use and now could not fold down on itself again, locking hte windown 3/4s of hte way up. I took this metal x out and hammered the hell out of it to make it straight. I put it back in and 2 weeks later it happened again. So if this is hte problem I would recommend reinforcing it somehow, or replacing it, rather then just bending it back. Good luck

Re: Re: 1993 accord window does not close!
Hi, Nathan
I took the door apart using your advice. Very simple. Not so simple, understanding what I saw inside. The window rocks back and forth (front to back) and this is what is causing it to not stay in the rubber seal as it rolls up. It looks like some kind of a nylon or white plastic fitting may need to be replaced. I could see the steel track that the fitting sits on and I could see that the fitting has too much play in it. If that fitting has to be replaced, how do you do it? -Bob Quote:

window coming out of moulding
Has anyone solved this problem without great expense? It appears as all accords of this same couple years have this problem.
