A.M. Stations won't come in.
The A.M. Stations on my stock radio (1996 Taurus) won't come in. The F.M. works fine. Any ideas what might be wrong?

Does AM come in on other people's radios in the area you are at?

Is it it doesn't come in, or it comes in with a lot of buzz. Some radios have worse reception than others.

after thinking about this for a while ........ the only thing I can come up with is - check the antenna and make sure it is grounded good, check both sides of the cable (at the radio and the car). Another option is, it may be set to european frequencies - US ones are 10 KHz apart, european ones are 7 or 9 KHz apart, I can't remember. Copmare your tuners freqs with a buddies.

Your radio is possibly bad. The AM and FM are actually two different radios. Guess it's time to upgrade. Or you could crack it open and see if there is a simple part to replace.

I had the same problem, it sucked, i feel for you man! I never resolved the problem. The car was a peice. I got rid of it when the area where the door hinges attached rusted out and the door fell off.
I love those talk stations on AM. |
