on par with gt?

I was driving home the other day from class and a new GT was riding my ass, so I floored it and he must have to because he stayed right on my ass but didnt really gain or pass me or anything. I started to slow down cause he were hitting 90 in a 45(and I didnt feel like causing an accident )... and he pulled up next to me and I looked at him and he didnt look or anything, he was like my age, and we came up to a red light and he turned left. I know he may have just been in a hurry and wanted to get home, but it was the perfect street and time for a quick run. He probly could have taken me, but I wonder we he didnt even try?

I know its not like racing an EVO 8 or a Viper or anything, but its my first thread in here . Ill have some more, and hopefully against a little more exotic cars too. Once spring comes around and my credit cards are paid off I think Im gonna try and put together a turbo setup... my new project...

Re: on par with gt?

You have a gsr right? Is it stock? The new mustang GT's run low 15 to high 14's here stock. So I would say if your teg is stock then he might pull on you a little but not anything more than 1/2 car but if you have I/H/E then you would probably take him. My

BTW good run, I love hearing of tegs running with mustangs.

If your running low 15's high 14's in a 99+ GT Stang you are a shitty shitty driver.

Re: on par with gt?

Well sense the 99 SVT cobra is rated as a 14.1 car I don't see how the GT could be as fast or faster . The ones I am talking about are bone stock no exhaust no intake system etc. If you are saying that a completely stock GT is a low 14 sec car then I would love to see this mistry GT. And I live in an area were domestics out weight imports by about 10:1 My

you cant trust anything these days with times unless they are from consumers not magazines, ive seen evo times vary from 13.2 to 14.1 in published magazines

From several websites.

my friend mike ran a 15.6 @ 89mph a couple times at PMI with his completely stock 02 Mustang GT. His 60ft was a 2.3, and Im sure he can get that lower but hes on the stock tires too and PMI sucks.

I've seen '02 GTs hit 15.2s and along with the pre 99 Cobras. The 94-98 GTs were stuck in the 16.3-5 range and the V6s are alone in the 17s. The '01 Cobras were good for high 14s but the new 390hp Cobra should be good for high 13s.

Another one had the 99 cobra at 13.9 and the 03 at 13.3

So who knows.

Yeah I know that magizines are off alot of the time, but from personal experience I have never seen a stock gt of any year make anything better than a 14.7 and that was only one most were in the 14.9 range. The cobra svt's were in the 14.2 range and the new SVT Cobra's were in the 12.8-9 range. I don't doubt that with an K&N fiter charger and exhaust you could easily see low 14's but completely stock come on. I will believe it when I see it.

I'm not saying you haven't seen those times I believe it. I've seen it too but for every1 of those I have seen 3X as many absolutely stock GT's run low 14's to mid 14's that's the average I have seen at NED. These were not my cars but I drove a friends 01GT Auto stock to a 14.3 and my bro-in-laws 03GT vert 5-speed to 14.6 both at NED. And I by no means consider myself a great driver. I just know how to get out of the hole effieciently.

I don't know PMI it maybe a track the historically produces bad times?

Re: on par with gt?

I have never seen any stock/almost-stock GT's of any year break a 14.7 on our local track.

There's a lot of very-modded ones doing much better than that, but again, I am referring to stock/almost stock.

I've also seen far too many 15.XX runs from stockers as they'd probably care to admit.
