1990 Dodge Caravan 3.0 V6 Fuel pump not working
The first time this happened, i checked fuses and looked at relays then after a load of turning the engine over it sarted, the van ran for a couple of days without a problem, then it did it again, so i checked the feul line only to find it dry, once again checked fuses and filter and hit the bottom of the tank, i just about gave up on it when it started on this occasion i noticed that the fuel pump sounded pretty loud,
it ran ok for another couple more days then the problem happened again this time there is nothing, so i dropped the tank and checked the power to the pump, all seem to be dead, so now im trying to find the relay to the pump? also is there a cut off switch? ive looked in the workshop manual but it dosnt tell me the location of the relay or if is fitted with a fuel cut off valve |

fuel pump
Hello,
I had a similar problem with my 89 voyager. My problem was a wire under the chassis on drivers side. About half way back on the drivers side under vehicle is a couple of wires with plug connectors. Check these connections. Something to keep in mind you should have someone checking current while you turn the key on. When you first turn the key on Your fuel pump will only run for a second or two to build up fuel pressure It will not come on again until its starts. So you will have to keep turning the key off and on every couple of seconds to continue to check for juice. Hope this helps, Dave |
