Angry Engine Is Now Makin Too Much Noise!!!!

I DON'T BELEIVE IT..I THINK BEFORE THIS VEHICLE WAS SOLD SOMEONE USED THAT GUNK STUFF IN THE TRANSMISSION SO IT WOULD PURR UNTIL SOMEONE BOUGHT IT. I NOTICED YESTERDAY EVERY TIME I STEP ON THE GAS IT'S LIKE THE TRANNIE DOESN'T WANT TO GO INTO THE NEXT GEAR...I FEEL THE RATTLE;TAPPING, IN THE ACCELERATER PEDAL AS I AM DRIVING. ALSO, WHEN DRIVING I HEAR THE LOUDEST GODAWFUL TAP TAP TAP TAP TAP RATTLE RATTLE SOUND WHICH I BELEIVE IS COMING FROM TRANNIE????I'M NOT A MECHANIC, BUT I KNOW WHEN THINGS DEFINATLY ARE NOT ADDING UP.I WISH SOMEONE COULD GIVE ME A SUGGESTION...BESIDES THE OBVIOUS ONE OF TAKING THE VEHICLE IN TO BE SEEN....ANYONE? HOW BOUT MY HELPFUL BUDDY BSENGELE???

Re: Engine Is Now Makin Too Much Noise!!!!

Do you hear the noise at idle and does it get louder and faster with rpm? The torque conveter could have come apart if it's an auto. Dosn't happen often but it happens. But it's hard to diag. a noise without hearing it. Maybe a GM tech could help you with a little better discription of the noise. You quite possibly need and engine.

Looks like you got pretty lucky to find the problem before you blew up the engine. It's a costly repair, but, if you don't get any other problems after this one's fixed, your engine should last a good while.
