1995 mazada 626 fuel problems..help!

Hi..My car shut off the other night...and Iwas told it was the fuel pump..purchased a new one and new fuel filter ...still does not crank..(after i turned the switch on/off acouple of times to build it up) then i realize that the new fuel pump is not comming on when i turn on the ignition...so i took it out and got another one figuring it was faulty..still the fuel pump is not comming on...I checked the fuel pump fuse and it is good...what I am looking for now is other suggestions..i am also looking for the fuel pump relay.

here's what i have done.
i know that i am having a fuel problem because:

1. I took the line off from the fuel filter
and turned on the switch a couple of times and even cranked it..no fuel.
2. I put a towel with gas on it up to the throttle body and it started...

so what could mae the fuelpump not work?

update.. i ran a wire tot he fuel pump and it comes on...however no gas is comming up..mazda said something about air needs to get out of the tank??? i have 1/2 tank of gas in there..thanks

my mother in laws 98' 626 4 banger is having the same problems. I replaced the pump and still no fuel coming out at the fuel rail. I also checke dthe fuse. Did you ever figure this out?
