91 626 idleing problem?? help?!

I have a 91 mazda 626. The car runs and drives nice. But one day it was running fine and now, when the car is in drive it tries to die when stopping... ... i am unsure as to what the problem might be. The car idles fine when in park and most of the time when it is in nuetral or driving, but if i am stopped and the car is in gear it tries dieing.

hey.. retodd.. you know you are posting this in a over a year old thread.. I hope you know that,.. but anyways,.. there are few things to look after..

1. the iac might need some cleaning,..should be filthy with carbon build ups..
2. clean the throttle body as well should be filthy as well.. check th egr passages on the body.. might be clogged up with lots of carbon...etc..
3. clean the mass air flow sensor;maf.. with good sensor cleaner/brake cleaner. let it dry for a while. before you put it back..
you can try the seafoam,.. if you like to get some attention from your neighbors.. it will smoke alot.. good luck.. and don't break anything else,.. if you gonna do it yourself.. jc..
