Post Help me make decisions.

Heres the deal:

I want to buy myself a used car that I can learn how to work on and also get some performance from. I plan to spend 3k-6k on it, and I just don't know what to get. I'm looking for some good recommendations about what to get. I'm partial to domestics, but I also like nissans.

Can anyone tell me a good domestic or nissan that I can learn the basics of car maintenance and mechanics with and enjoy when I'm done?

For the money, a Sentra is a good choice and a fairly simple engine to work on.

If you like Mustangs, you'll forever be fixing a late 80s model for that amount of money.

Re: Help me make decisions.

yah,get a Sentra B13 SE-R..It has 145hp,its not heavy,pretty fun to drive(i've heard..i have a XE),and nice engine with big aftermarket..
Or how about a B14 SE-R(200sx),its also good..
Or how about a 240SX...you can get a good S13 for around $3,000. They are RWD,have nice body,can swap a SR20DET,and drift.......

Re: Help me make decisions.

hmmm...To swap a SR20DET into a S14,just get the whole JDM S14 front clip. You can get one for around $3,500...It includes the the whole front,Hood, fenders, engine, steering wheel, cluster, and everything from the dash and front. The fastest 240SX I've seen ran was 10's...It'll take bout $13,000 all mods, all JDM parts, all quality products. Having a 240sx,you might want to go drifting...Oh yeah.Itll be cheaper(dont need much engine mods),you will just need a good suspension set up,and skills...laterz'

Re: Help me make decisions.

Hmm...With a SR-DET it will be much faster..like 2 seconds faster stock. And its much easier to mod a SR20 than that KA..The KA sucks, theres a turbo for it,but still sucks, you need alot of work to make it fast, and itll never be as fast as the SR..The SR has from 215hp-250hp stock...You'll just need a big intercooler, cams, injectors, headers, exhaust, and a few more things to break into the 13's..Think about it,i would go for it,or at least just get the 240 right now,and when you've saved enough money, get the SR20DET..
