transmission noises - is this common?
I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 4.7L. I have noticed a noise coming from the transmission. When shifting into forward or reverse from park or neutral, there is a noise that sounds like gears spinning and locking in. It only lasts for about a second, but with the door open, it was enough to bother me a little. The sound is also a little plastic-y, not exactly metallic. I told my uncle about this problem. He has a durango, and said his sounds exactly the same. When he brought his to the dealership to be checked out, they told him that this sound was normal on newer dodges. Has anyone else had this problem? What was your outcome? Should I worry?
Thanks, Tony |
