Shipping prices

can some people share some of the around prices on shipping that you thought was outrageous or reasonable for whatever you may have purchased and from where to where you shipped it

this might be a long shot but i hope this is not a stupid post i'm really curious about this because as you see everytime someone is ordering here online shipping cost becomes a big pause in the transaction because most of us really dont know how much more its going to be for shipping.. and etc...

Cas: there are a couple of places you can go... Key thing here is you need to know the weight of the package.

1) www.ups.com - UPS shipping calcuator is under the rates section, pretty cool, but you need to know zipcodes and city names, great for international shipments, but pretty expensive as well. What is nice about UPS is that if the company uses them, you can compare what they quote you vs. what it really costs, keep in mind some companies add a small profit margin to shipping to cover stuff like boxes, tape, supplies, etc...at least thats what I do, some call it a handling charge. Bonus for UPS, you can track a package online if you have the tracking number.

2) www.usps.gov - The good old United States Postal System, great for shipping from the US. Their International prices are the best, but I highly recomend Global Express if you want to send stuff internationally, at least you can track that.

3) www.fedex.com - Same as UPS but not as many shipping options...

Hope this helps.

Taxes are worse then shipping.

When I ordered my Tein's, Stillen Struts & Swaybar from Luke in Cali ... to Toronto .. welp, I got free shipping - but I ended up paying $456 CDN in taxes. This was a 70lb package.

Import Taxes do suck...heres a trick, and you didnt hear it from me... this is if you know the vender pretty well, and they ship USPS. Have them mark the package as a gift and send the invoice seperately (email, fax, regular mail). It works good around the holidays and a lot of the time customs will only glance at it. If they open the package and there is no invoice then you are good. If there is your both in trouble...I believe you can insure a gift package as well...other than that, find a friend near the border and drive there to pick it up.
