where to start??

Alright, I just bought a 1989 Crown Victoria LTD Wagon. It has the 5.0 302 fuel injected. I am low on money, but would like to do some mods to boost my horsepower. I also have a 2002 ZX2 with some mods. I am just looking for something cheap for some extra ponies. any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
