This importing thing

Ok, well i am a noob. Ive heard that its hard to get it of the barge when you import a skyline or most import vehicles. What happens, is there some random import homo that stands there and waits to see if a import car has arrived, how do they know whats coming in at what time? I also wanted to know about this emissions thing. Skylines come stock with catalitic converters and shizz. I dunno, this whole motorex money deleio is gay. You find a skyline for under ten grand and they make you pay like 20 grand to legalize.
Someone fill me in on this info.

Cool

How about trying your BMV, they can tell you what you need for a title legal in the states. I know in some states you can title a import as a special car, like getting a title for a dune buggy you built out of a tube frame but want to make street legal. If they can get titles somehow, there has to be a way.

They don't have to legalize them. Those are kit cars. The Skylines are production cars, so if you are going to bring one over, it needs to be legalized.

Re: This importing thing

it may suck yes, but there's no other way to get the car.
get over it.
the legalization isn't that bad when you compare it to the insurance fees you have to pay up front...

if you don't have 150k in hand for when you want the car, don't bother. end of story.

Look, the problem isn't just importing the car. Your friend can't legalize Skylines too. The guys at Motorex are the only ones who can do that right now.

Re: Re: This importing thing

I know RBmotoring is applying to the DMV so they will be able to also legalize Skylines. Sean Morris helped start MotoRex so he knows what's involved.

As mentioned at this CURRENT time in our lives ONLY MotoRex can legalize a skyline for the states, but NO ONE can do the R34 at this time as MotoRex let that part of it expire by mistake.

Not true, patience is a virtue, go to http://dms.dot.gov now all I have to do is get my hands on this addendum "A" that they mention and i'll be set. I could care less about becoming an RI, all I want is A (one, singular, just mine) R34 GTR. If you care enough, you'll find a way.

oh yeah, that brings you to a search, don't change anything on the page, just type 5507 in the search and be ready to do some reading

Re: This importing thing

again, it's all about the pricing.
and it's gonna be expensive, no matter how you do it.
even if you do it yourself and save yourself 2 grand, you're still going to spend an assload of money.
that's just how this stuff works...
but good find

If you read the report, which I took the time to find for you, it states that you only are changing your speedometer to MPH, and changing brake warning light label to read "brake". The rest of the guages are within compliance.
