Wanted: 85-88 Monte Carlo SS

I will be wanting to get a Monte carlo SS from years 85-88, in a couple, months, around the beginning of summer. Looking for something with at a max of 90k miles, good, strong engine, and a solid boady. I dont mind a few scraches or dings. My price range is at a max of $5,500. I live in Clinto twp., Michigan.

Come check us out on http://www.montecarloss.com About 3/4 the way down the list of forums is both a "For Sale" section and a "Wanted" section.

My "love affair" with GM G-bodies (had an '85 Regal T-type and an '87 Olds 442 in the past....current "toy" is an '84 SS) stems from the fact that engine/drivetrain/suspention swaps/mods/tweaks are easy as cake! ANY performance motor in GM's "part's bin" can be made to fit using all GM parts. Anything from a turbo 3.8 from a Grand National to a big block Chevy 502! Mine's currently apart with a 396 out of a Chevelle waiting in the wings. We've got more than a few people on the board with late-model LT1's and LS1's swapped into their 4th Gen Montes.
Throw the Hotchkis catalog at a G-body and it'll out-corner most of the cars on the road today. 12" front brakes can easilly be swapped over from either "B-bodies" or "f-bodies".
And all of this in a car with a velour interior, a decent stereo and A/C!
............and where else can you build a performance car that will not only haul a$$....but haul you and 4 friends (and a trunk full of beer) to the beach!

(can y'all tell I like G-bodies??? )
