Question 88 Monte Carlo SS Help! No Brake Lights

Ive been to alot forums the past couple weeks...

Trying to restore a monte for my son, but brake system failed inspection, third eye lights up, I changed all bulbs, fuses and entire wire harness, still with the same results...no brake lights!

I have been at it for a couple of weeks now and Im really stumped...any help here would be sweet!
I only have two weeks left to take it back for reinspection.....

PS have check hazzard, signals, tail, signal switches....nothing seems to work!

Follow the wires with a test light.

Re: 88 Monte Carlo SS Help!

I moved the ground wire thinking rather hoping that would fix it. NOT!
There is power running to/from the third light connector in the trunk but how power gets back to the brake light I cant figure. When I jump the wire from signal to brakes they work, but that puts my left signal out!!!LOL I checked the bulb connectors to see it they have corroded but they all look fine (through all that pasty stuff!). A new wiring harness installed (waste of $$). I guess I'll pull that dash apart again today and take a second look!

Re: 88 Monte Carlo SS Help!

Get a wiring diagram and see where all of the wires are connected. The brake light switch, turn snignal and hazzard are all conected in one place.
