What does it take?

I just want to know, what does it take to get a restoration shop up and going, I used to own a collision shop here in Salt Lake. Now I think it's time to open a muscle car resto shop.

Re: What does it take?

The body portion is the most needed part so it looks like you have a great start. You can farm out the engine work. Develping a client base could partially achieved by attending car shows with a booth show casing your work.

Re: What does it take?

Be sure to hire an old fart, that actually KNOWs something about the older cars. There's too much myth and superstition with regard to a lot of the info you can read up on. Some is accurate, some is not. I spend several minutes every morning, sifting through the BS and straightening people out. You would be shocked, how many people actually believe their '67 GTO came from the factory with a 389 and TriPower. Total production: 0. That's merely one example. But, if it's to be a business, and profitable, it MUST be "right"!
