CTR headlights

I'm taking out my halos because they suck. They point straight down and I just can't get them to point upward, and condensation builds up in them all the damn time. I hate them.

Anyways, I'm going to paint the chrome inside my stockies and need to know the exact color of ctr headlights. Also, anybody know how to jimmy rig some day runners? I'm all about saving up for quality shit, but $300-$400 is [dr.evil] regoddamndiculous [/dr.evil].

Looks flat black to me...

Re: CTR headlights

Maybe a dark grey or charcoal or something. It's probably flat black though.

Look at these ones it's a good close up.here

These are my CTR headlights that I just got a few weeks ago (authentice Stanley JDM Honda model). As you can see, it's NOT a flat black, but rather a gunmetal color. CTR headlights did come in a black color though, but I have yet to see any, and IMO they don't look nearly as good.

Also, when you crack your OEM's open, make sure you do so in a dry environment, and make sure you seal the edges back up with silicon ALL THE WAY around them, otherwise you'll get the same condensation probs your angle eyes had.

Re: CTR headlights

Yeah I know to chisel off ALL traces of the old sealant and put a nice bead of new on. Hey can you take a pic of where that little orange reflector is on mine and what it looks like on yours? I want to see what I can cover it up with, or if I can just paint over it, to make it look as close as possible. Also, any ideas on how to get a daytime runner bulb in there and how to hook it up?

Re: CTR headlights

I feel your pain. My halos piss me off alot too. They are never even and they leak horribly. I converted my stock headlights to "ctr style". I know someone who had day-time runner lights "installed" into his civic, but I don't know how he did it. I'll try to get in touch with him and ask.

All the DIYs I've read on the reflector issue, say to put some alumimum foil over the reflector, which will give it to look of CTR lights. The JDM CTR lights don't come with ANY reflector though, not even clear. The space it' in on USDM lights, is just indented in on the JDM lights, but it's the same color as the rest of the housing.

As for adding your own city light as it's called, you'd just have to drill a hole for them into the backside of the housing. If you can do it well enough, you can drill it out to accept the Prelude city light sockets that I had to get for mine since the sockets are sold seperately, and JDMhondaparts where I got mine from doesn't sell the sockets. I just picked up the Prelude ones from my local Honda dealership. But otherwise, I've seen places that sell DIY city light kits for headlights. It's not much differant than unstalling a strobe light into your housings.

How they look at night with city light on...

At some angles, they almost look like S2000 headlights with HID
