Exclamation Datsun 510 help needed

Hi everyone, I know some of you have the 1:1 510 and some of you (Steve) are very good on having refference materials and sites to use.

I need some 1:1 refference photos of the webber side draft carbs and the engine block. I am attempting to work on the REvell kit and need the engine wiring diagrams, positioning diagrams, refference photos etc... please help.

And any other pics of the 510 would be helpfull.. like the chasis color codes, aftermarket accesories, etc.

Thanks again!

-Paul

With deeper research on google you could find it. In no time I found the picture above and the 2 carb link just below the picture.

Are you actually building it as the BRE car? I have lots of pics of that car for reference, just PM or better still email me and I'll send you a what ever you need. Here's a pic of it under the hood as it is now.

Also I've got over 900 pictures of various 510's right here on my computer including many engine compartment shots and plenty of other pics in books if you need any other reference stuff (I kinda like them )

Why do you have to make them? There's some in the kit, no? The carbs on #46 are a bit different to webbers, they're Mikuni. Here's a fairly close pic of one...

and a side view..

I have some from a Tamiya KPGC10 spare but they don't have the air horns. Other than that I have some Revell ones from a Datsun 620 pickup kit (these are probably the same as the ones in the BRE kit anyway.

Re: Datsun 510 help needed

I´m also building a Revell 510 to BRE model. The only intake setup I came across was the same one of the Ratdat pics. I believe those are Solex. Besides, in some technical information gathered here and there, I only found references to Solex/Mikuni (the BRE roadster used Webbers).
Anyway, I thought of changing the carbs in the kit for some Tamiya Webbers (from the Lotus7), but now I´m going for the ones in the Kit, trying to give them more volume, in the carb main body and flanges, and adding some turned aluminum velocity stacks. I think they make a good representation of the ones in the real car, they just lack "definition" and volume.
