Thumbs up What makes the G20/Primera a Outstanding Car

This is what I have to say about the G20.

Cons: Not many mods, Lacks power compared to other sport sedans.

Pros: Proven and refined engine and Five speed, excellent value, european flavor and handing, don't see one on the road every five minutes, and being one of the most visited topics on AF, they have a loyal following around the world.

Just my 2 cents. I know you will agree.:ylsuper

Sorry I don't agree with this! Make that 'low power out of the box' and I'd agree. However check around you have everything you need to make a 500hp+ G20. No one's done it to a G20 yet.

I agree a little with both of you. If I was to say little or no mods I would be referring to the fact that they are hard to find and ULTRA expensive (which is why I now sell this stuff) but the car has a lot of possibilities.

Also I used to own a 'teg and you know what that aftermarket looks like so you can understand what I was used to before I got my G20.

I also disagree, :right:

All the mods are out there, just not sitting in piles at local shops.

I'm going to have to disagree also. The power, stock isn't amazing, but it's not bad (the P10 with a 5 speed does 0-60 in 8.3 seconds, not bad). The mods are there, keep in mind that it has the same engine as Sentra SE-R and Nissan Silvia, beleive me the mods are there (JUN makes alot of stuff). As far as exterior mods, keep looking, this just isn't the car for that (in the states at least). Handling is way above just about anything else in the price range, and reliability is top notch.

Handling is way above many cars, in the price range or not. I can't wait to get a couple more nice suspension mods and a good set of tires. That's what i find most appealing about the car. And with a couple modifications, it can definitely get out of its own way. But the handling... it's just so nice, even stock it's great!

I agree that one of the cons about the g is its weak power. So you pro guys don't think its ridiculous that you have to spend another 5 grand just to make your g faster? that is just a major con. The other sport sedan's don't need 5 grand of modification because they come equipped with more powerful engines. It has to be a con if the g20 is the lowest in power in the same price range and class of most of its competitors!

True. The lack of power(and cost of improving it) is the G20's most crippling flaw. But I'd still take the G20 everything else because it's fun on curvy roads, even in stock form.

I just don't like to void the hell out of my warranty to make it fast. I am not an expert on engines and stuff and can't be my own sevice man like P10DET or Luke or someone.

plus, IMO i think it looks better than a lot of other cars. as far as styling goes, youll have to custom it if you want it cheap. not that hard really, well i think so. handling is great, but power is a problem. i think they should have equipped it with the DET at least.

I think w/ intake, header, and bumped timing, it is about where it should be at stock (maybe add a lighter flywheel and slightly stronger clutch, but that's the most that i think they would need to make it a good stock car). With a SR20VE it would have more than enough power to keep up with the quickest imports here in the US. I think the 190hp SR20VE would net mid to low 14 second 1/4 mile times stock... that's very fast for a 4 cylinder sedan!

Couldn't agree with you more! If the G20 came stock with the SR20VE instead of the DE engine, then they certainly would have been a much bigger hit here in the US.

I may be wrong here, but the only P platform to ge the VE is a P11 that mates the wonderful motor to a CVT auto tranny There a are a couple other cars that come with vvl motors (1.6L VVL), and even a SR20VET in the X-trail, but I only know of that one P11 that carries the SR20VE. BUt then again, what do I know. I live here in the US, where only Honda and Toyota have vtec/VVL/vvtl-i etc...
