I want to put CF decal on the hood of my impreza.
My idea ise to mask the areas not to be covered, apply the decal and cut the excess after that. My question is : is there a problem applying micro-sol on the masking tape (like destroying the paint with the tape glue ) or is it safe that way ?If anyone had already try, that would help me. Thanks in advance.

Re: Micro-sol question
I wrote a "How To" on applying C/F composite decals, it is in the "How To" index at the top of the main index.
I don't see how the method you want to use will work, this is a decal you're using, you mask for painting, not decalling. When you lift the tape there is a very good chance the decal would lift anyway. |

Re: Micro-sol question
Thank you i already read you how-to (by the way making the template with masking tape is a good idea).
In fact i made a test and it work. I mask the spoiler and the fenders, then apply the decal, and cut the decal on the separation lines to remeve the decal.

its actualy a good way of doing carbon decals on hoods, i put the tape on and using a scalpel trim anything away not needed. then put the decal on and use microsol as you see fit, when its all dry trim off the carbon to the panel lines and take off the tape. all done.
