I bought this 81 mercury zephyr, it is a 3speed auto and has a 3.3L 200 cid (inline 6). Thats got to go. i want to put either a 2.3L turbo from a 79-82 stang, If i cant get ahole of one of thous i'll just put a 5.0L in from 83-85 maybe 82. i know i will have to change the crossmembers, but how will i know if the tranny will line up and is here anything i dident mention that i should know? any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Why not just turbo the six? Anyway, I'm pretty sure any inline 6 after 69 has the same bolt pattern as the 5.0. Does that car have the 4 lug wheels? If it does, and you go with the 5.0 you need to swich over to 5 lug. Don't know a whole lot about the 2.3 so I can't comment.

I might be wrong, I based that on the older 4 lug stuff. The 80's may have been stronger.

Yup, it's the hammer! I like it a lot better then the stock one, looks and operation.
