ac and compressor?

how hard is it to remove the ac and compressor, does the belt go to anything else? or can i just unhook it all and take it out, i had a car before that when the ac belt broke it couldnt drive for shit cause it was also running the power steering lol . i have a 90hb btw

Not very hard since it was a dealer installed option. Check a repair manual. The belt only goes on A/C comp., idle pulley, crank pulley. Take everything thing out if your removing the A/C, not 1/2 the parts - there are parts inside that can be removed. If there is any freon in the system evacuating legally might be the hardest part. Jiffy Lube can do it for pretty cheap or there are other ways that I wont say. Just don't freeze your hand, that shit is very cold.

I took off the a/c belt last month, it was really easy to do. I just unbolted that middle pulley and then pulled the belt off. Ive been meanin to get around to taking the compressor and condensor and stuff out sometime, i hope its pretty easy.

Nothing noticeable, it probably made some sort of a difference.
I think once I get all that weight out of the front I will be able to feel a little bit of a difference.

yea they say the compressor is around 17lbs i think lol, and there should be alil less work for you motor to spin the extra pully
