How are you planning on getting the ZC smogged in CA? I've heard it's a bitch.

Also, if you have an si, isn't the SOHC ZC practically the same HP wise as what you already have? Maybe I'm misremembering.

Smog is no problem

I have a '88 civic w/ ZC SOHC. Smogged twice (In San Diego), this time it isn't even running well and it passed no problem. Make sure you put grease, dirt.... anything over the engine stamp so they can't ID easily and they won't even look twice.

original smog gear

I have the original smog gear from the d15?? that was in the car. It all works just fine with a ZC. With an ecu swap, injectors, the resistor, fuel rail and intake I could have put in the DOHC ZC no problem.

Regarding this swap, the previous engine studdered on accleration, bad. If you know much about it PLEASE see this link to the forum:

http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=163641

I think it is the injectors, I'm looking at them today (Sunday).

Of course.... I had no idea about any of this when I did the ZC swap, I just needed another engine! I wish I had been into tuning then! B18, yea baby!

Re: looking for ef divers in CA

Yeah the d16a6 and just the sohc zc are practically the same thing. I have heard people say they have the same hp numbers (108) and i have heard people say they have aroudn 118-120. Mine felt maybe just a tad faster but it could also be since the new engine has around 40k miles and the old one had 130k.
