2000 LT interior noise

I just recently purchased a used 2000 LT with 42,000 mi. My only complaint is that this vehicle has a very annoying noise level inside. It is like being inside of a bass drum and seems to come from the rear. It gets louder the rougher the pavement gets. I don't mean potholes or bumps. It is when the asphalt is made of larger gravel, etc. It decreases the faster you go.

I have a '95 and it doesn't have this resonance. I have replaced the tires as I thought initially it was coming from there. I have looked underneath for anything loose or worn such as a bushing, shock mounts, etc. and can't see anything out of place. I have pulled the door panels on the barn doors and don't see anything wrong.

Has anyone noticed anything like this? Is this just normal? I would like to correct it if possible. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mrk

I have a 2002 Z71 with the same problem. In warm weather I am able to crack the windows to lessen the noise. My noise tends to go away over 40mph. I wish there was a fix, but I think it is a design problem.

Thanks, at least I know it isn't just something with just this one vehicle. I will keep looking for a solution. Has to be something with a body mount or something like that.

If I find something, I'll let you know.
