Looking to get a Integra.....Need info on models and engines

HI i am looking to buy a Integra but i am a complete newbie when it comes to models and engines of them. The models i kno are the LS,GSR abd jus the standard integra. Also i kno the GSR comes wit the best/fastest engine. Thats pretty much all i kno. What other models are there? What are there features? WHat engines come with each model? WHat are there specs? Im looking for a 2 door im not really interested in the 4. Thanks

the integras come in rs, gs, ls, gsr, and type-r.

the rs, gs, ls have DOHC engines with 140 or 142 hp and 125 torque

the gsr has a DOHC vtec motor with 170 hp and 128 torque

the type-r also has a DOHC vtec but with 195 hp and 130 torque

now the type r is the best/fastest car with the best motor but the retail is really high. the gsr being the next and then the rs, gs, ls.

if you have any more questions on spec just ask

Go with the Gsr, they are a little bit more hard to find but they are sick ass cars

Id say that you have 2 choices.
1) If u are planning on slappin on a turbo in the future, go with the ls...i just read that it can handle 12psi on stock internals because of its low compression ratio.

2) If there are no turbo plans...planned, go with the gsr (or type r if affordable) for the opposite reason, it has very much ALL MOTOR potential.

i hope this helps

The LS makes almost as much torque but makes it a lower RPM, so you could just find a cheaper LS with low miles, and chances are an engine that hasn't been abused as much since its doesnt have VTEC, and if you want, you could either turbo it, or slap on a VTEC head. And by slap on I mean, search and search for a good head and the pther parts you will need in excellent condition, same year or newer as your LS, pay a pretty good amount for it, find a better than good shop so they dont mess it up, and pay them lots of money so they put it on right, and maybe after a few days to a week(depending on customers) a good shop should have it back to you; and there you go, a supposedly superior version of the GSR.

I agree with all of the guys above. I have a 2000 black gsr stock as of now because no money to work on it but if you get a gsr you could find a 95 for a pretty reasonable price. Specs and rumors have it that the 95 gsr can beat a 2001 gsr

then again whatever fits your wallet

i have heard good things about a decent LS with low miles and replacing the internals and putting a turbo/nitrous in it. this is what i plan to do. not sure about nitrous tho

the 95 gsr can beat a 97-up gsr. obdI vs obdII would give the earlier gsr a slight edge (still is all drivers race tho.)

if u want to go in a straight line all motor, get a gsr.

if u want to go in a straight line FI, get an ls.

if u want an auto-x car, get the type r.

don't waste the r on straight roads.

there is really no which is better answer now if you have the same setup at the same psi on both cars then the gsr will run better. some people think gsr is better cause of the head flows better but some liike the ls cause of the lower compression it is really all up to what u want.

kits can average around 2500 to 3000 but some can be more. and install really depends on the person u go to.

If its low miles and you take care of it, do regular maintenance, don't drive the hell out of it and keep it at recommended settings it should be pretty damn reliable.
