Skip the body kit. With the money you save, you can get a lot of Type-R stickers, they're where the real HP is

maybe aerodynamics, but alot of kits are just flat out wind sales. Id go with the custom cardboard kit, they tend to produse the most hp.

Re: what are the benefits of adding a body kit

Seriously though, most body kits are for looks only. Some kits, like the Mugen kit for the RSX, actually increase the amount of downforce on the car.

Re: what are the benefits of adding a body kit

trust me on this one, if you get a bodykit, you will tend to want to lower it....ALOT....and what happens? Bottom out your kit, wanting to be extra careful on speedbumps, and paint cracks in your bumper.....My 3rd time getting it repainted, i'm sick of it....It does look nice though ;-)

speedbumps are just the beginning. anything that's at any kind of a slope will scrape the bottom of my front kit, namely the entrances off the street to lots of parking lots and my driveway. luckily my kit doesn't get hurt, it just gets the shit scraped out of the bottom; can't tell while it's on the car

Re: what are the benefits of adding a body kit

oh yes....those darn slopes are the worst.
Isn't there something you could put on the bottom of your bodykit to protect it when you bottom out?

Re: what are the benefits of adding a body kit

You could just get a lip for your stock front bumper, and when it gets too messed up, take it off and replace it. Or get a urethane front end, they're supposed to hold up better than fiberglass when it comes to cracking.

And watch out for gas stations too, around here, they're notorious for weird entrances.

Read that first.

Majority of body kits are cosmetic. Just looks and actually slows the car down from drag. But some are actually very usefull. I have a mugen kit, and I do feel a slight difference and extremely high speeds. But thats very rare that I go that fast (90mph or more).
