HU install question

I dont own a contour but i am installing a head unit for a friend. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what parts of the dash, if any need to come off in order to get the stock radio out.

links would be great,

none. your going to need a special tool to pull the stock radio out (or any HU for that matter). theres two holes on each side of the radio that require a U shaped tool that will slide in those holes and lock into the radio. After that you can then pull it out. Other than that, all youll need is a wiring harness which you can buy from Circuit City.

Nope... Who ever had the car before him rigged it. theres no holes in the radio thats in the car. I can get it out if i can take the piece of plastic surounding it and the AC controls. It looks like it will come out i just dont wanna pull not knowing the mounting points of that piece. I think there is a screw on the bottum of that piece but the pieces surrounding the shifter are blocking it. So any one who knows the mounting points of the interior pieces ....info would be great.

thanks beyond....

hmm...well I guess id have to see the setup to figure it out. as for the hvac trim piece thats below the hvac and around the HU, that comes right off. just give it a good pull. in fact, if you get that loose, the cd player may even come out with it now that i think of it.
