Body Kits/Wheels

Hows it goin everyone. I am new to the site, but have a question for anyone that can help. I just bought my v6 2001 mustang back almost a year ago and i am interested in putting a body kit on it. I want to know what the difference between urethane kits and fiberglass kits is, if any. Also, are kits hard to install? Also, does anyone know a good site to find v6 performance parts at? I know that its just a v6, but my insurance wouldnt let me get otherwise. I am still on my warranty with ford, so cant really change things yet either, but i am still lookin for whats out there. Thanks for all your help.

Re: Body Kits/Wheels

I also forgot to ask if anyone knows a good site to look for some 17" rims for the car as well. I was interested in the GT rims (torque thrust), but any good ideas are welcome.

granted that i don't know you very well, but i'd like to warn you that you might be setting yourself up to be teased. body kits are a pretty outrageouse thing to throw on a car - typically only beefed up mechanically ones deserve such glamour - and i usually make fun of those ones anyways.

For wheels...

try Tirerack.com

You can pick your car, your year, your color - then you can pick which wheels you like. It will then show you what your car will look like with any set of wheels you prefer...pretty neat - if just to get ideas.

Difference between a fiberglass and urethane body kit. Most hoods are made out of fiberglass which is light and rigid which is fine for hoods. Body kits made out of fiberglass are usually cheaper than urethane one's and not a good idea because you need some flex and give when it comes to bumpers and side skirts. That's why your quality companies like Saleen, Cervini's, etc.., all thier body kits are made out of urethane but hoods are fiberglass.

Also the rims you are talking about are Ford Racing rims.

I don't know how hard it is to take off the back bumper, but the front isn't bad. Lots of plastic screws(if you can call them that) holding things in place. Remove plastic shield and lights and unscrew form under the fender. I had to fully remove the bumper just to put a customized tag on the front(no room for drilling underneath). As for performance, rpmoutlet.com and ebay are great. I sound like a broken record saying that, but that doesn't make it any less true.
