Question Subrau v.s Ford

My friend just bought a 04 STi Impreza (stock & first manual car) and whats to race my friends 1988 5.0 Mustang GT (been driving stick for 1 year) . Not to mention that the whole motor has been rebuilt with ford racing motorsports performance parts. We are all eager to see which car is faster please let me know what you think. We will be racing these cars in the spring of 04. Thank you for you help

Re: Subrau v.s Ford

The STi will kill a stock or fairly stock 88 5.0 mustang. I ran a STi in september at the track, and it was very close! I ran a 13.6 at 102, and the STi ran a 13.5 at 99.

What the outcome will be depends on more exactly what that means.

Driver skill too will matter too. If the guy in the mustang can't drive, then the STi will smoke him on the launch.

Re: Subrau v.s Ford

it was built for state police officers on the east coast. and Ford couldnt sell it to them. so they produced it for the public. basically its a 95 V6 body w/o fog lights or a rear wing, it has manual windows, and cloth seats, it is light as hell and it the ultimate drag car. its has a 5.0 in it and only a few hundred were made.
