Re: 2000 Limited Tahoe Differential Fluid Change
depending upon the mileage and the warranty left on the vehicle. I use "delco" synthetic gear lube on my '99 tahoe's differential. I bought it from the dealer and saved the reciept incasse of a problem down the road. Unbolt the cover over a drain pan, watch for foreign material it will drain slowly. then after the fluid has moslty drained from the housing, clean off the cover surface area with a "brake clean" spray product. APply the new gasket goo. Reinstall the cover and fill the diff. let sit for around 5 minutes recheck fluid level and your finished. good luck ! The new style fluid smells remarkably better then the old stuff

Re: Re: 2000 Limited Tahoe Differential Fluid Change
it should hold 2-3 quarts. About the "gasket goo", any gasket sealer from any auto parts will work, i normally use the red, or the ultra copper, as they are both for higher temperatures. Be sure to clean the gasket surfaces very well so that you do not get any leaks. I am not sure if the factory uses gaskets anymore or just "gasket goo", but be sure to clean it all off. A small wire brush and a utility knife works well.
