Greetings.
I'm a 21 year old guy who loves performance modifications to just about anything with wheels, from musclecars to rally racers to go-karts.
I just registered here because I have quite a few questions I cannot easily answer via online searches, so I seek advice and experience from members here. Browsing the forums from the main entry, I am not sure where to post my more pertinent questions, so I will ask here in hopes that at the least, I can be directed to the correct arena.
Does anyone have any knowledge/experience with custom carbon fiber or fiberglass autobody work, or perhaps know of any companies that perform this service and have a website?
I am interested in obtaining a carbon fiber or fiberglass body shell for a kit car, but in the shape of a nonproduction kit car model; thus the work amounts to being 100% 'custom' because it is not featured in the kit shell catalogs.... As you might derive from my screenname, my specific interest at the moment is applying a McLaren F1 XP5 body shell to a Pontiac Fiero subframe. I know this custom work is likely to be on the ridiculous side of pricing, but for now I am very curious anyway.
Anyone have any ideas or information? Thank you for your input.
