Unhappy Reset check engine light

I need to refresh my memory on how to reset the check engine light after an oil change. I know it was something about pressing the gas peddle and turning the key off and on. I had the light come on before and a Ford garage showed me this trick to reset the light after an oil change. I don't take the explorer to a ford garage for the oil change so I need to reset the light. Thanks, Bud

Re: Reset check engine light

most all cars you can reset the check engine light by simply removing the hot (positive) side of the battery..some vehicles are quick to reset..fords..5 to 10 minutes ..chevys are longer
