I have a '97 2500.I have had the steering box replaced as well as steering dampner,u-joints,tires,wheels,tie-rods,etc. After all this I still can move my wheel 10-12" while driving and still have this "slop" in the wheel. What am I missing here?

Re: 2500 steering problem..HELP!!
Possibly the intermediate steering shaft. If not that it could be the steering column.

Re: 2500 steering problem..HELP!!
hey folks, this is not a new problem at all, it stems from several different things. It appears that the coil/trailing arm/live axle front end isn't so great after all.
There is a unit called the darrin steering brace for dodge pickups, that seems to solve most of these steering issues. I would recommend checking it out. it has been known to correct steering problems on trucks that were still bad after new front end parts, steering box, and a 4 wheel alignment. |
