Lightbulb Amber or Clear?

Okay, so now I got confused: is the JDM corner lights amber or clear? I see many JDM style Civics with amber corner lights, though I have seen in one site say the stock JDM corner lights is clear with an amber casing inside to give off the orange cornering signal.

That is a dead on discription, they are clear on the outside and have a small cover over the bulb, from the sides they look mostly clear, but this is what they look like from the front.

Thanks. So why is it that those who go JDM put amber corner lights instead of the clear-and-inside-amber lights? That's too bad that my stock one is the clear-and-inside-amber one, which I already disposed. If I only knew then...

Re: Amber or Clear?

People like the Amber ones, I guess Vision made them famous, but there were other companies with them. Your US spec ones are clear on the outside with the bulb cover, but they have a reflector on the outside cover, the JDM ones don't.

Uh, I live in the Philippines, not the U.S. The stock EG Civics here have the clear-and-amber-inside corner lights, and I had it replaced around March or April with the USDM corner lights. A week ago I had that replaced with the amber corner lights. Now I'm thinking of getting that clear-and-amber inside corners again. There's a lot of those here in surplus shops I guess.
