I think you should get a Chip first (GIAC makes a chip for the 30v 2.8) and the exhaust, don't bother about the intake, RS4 Grill, some wheels, lower

Re: just bought a '98 A4 2.8L 30V...
yeah, from what I've heard - modifying your chip on a a stock A4 is only worthwhile if you're using a Turbo, an NA engine won't benifit that much plus I'm sure you'll lose a lot of economy. I drive the 96 2.8 so it's a 12 valve and hasless acceleration than yours, I've heard it's possible to attach a turbo to the 2.8, but it's very difficult and requires most of the cars settings to be changes, you'll also lose the nice easy NA engine powercurve you have now. I've actually driven the 1.8T and when that turbo keeps on kicking in in dense freeway traffic, it can be kind of irritating. Anyway your getting 176Bhp off that 2.8 as it is now, adn 7.6s to 100km/h
i dont think your gonna be losing to honda ballads anytime soon, so enjoy that 2.8 - it's designed for comfortable driving a turbocharger will stuff that (and your engine) for you. |
