First race in the Teg...

All right, so my friend and I are driving back from Rutland two nights ago, it was about 9:30 pm. I see this sweet Silver RSX Type-S with what looks like a factory aero kit with out the wing and what is either just a muffler or maybe the end of an exhaust, I don't know. My friend says, "You'll get your ass beat" I said, "Yeah, but I wonder what this thing can do?" Okay so we get on the high way and I pull up next to him and geared down into 3rd (we're going about 60-65). He floors it and so do I, he had a jump on me but I started to pull a little bit then at the end of 3rd I shift and start to pull on him even harder I pass him in fourth (my ass was past his front bumper) and shift to fifth expecting him to fly past me at any time and I see him not really gain and by the time he's about 2 1/2 car lengths back I see his head lights dip and he falls way back.

I'm guess he just didn't have the balls to go over 100 MPH, looks like he tried up till about 85-90 MPH, not completely sure if this is a win, but it sounded/looked like he was trying... but I don’t know, I expected him to follow me so I could ask him what he's done to it but about 5-6 minutes later once we get off the highway he turns down a road and that's the last I see of the RSX for the night. Oh yeah and when we were racing this little Wigger Civic DX tried to run with us but he got blow away when we gassed it in 3rd (at least I was in 3rd) Poor kid, probably knocked his sideways hat off

The Power steering is disabled on my Teg and so is the AC, this was done by the last owner he justified it as it reduces drag on the engine and thus gives it a little more power, guess it makes sense but it's probably very little anyway so what's the difference?

Well that's my first story with the Teg, I'm not saying I killed the RSX till I hear what the "experts" think, he did try for a while till I pulled ahead and then he let off so if the rest of the story's I've read count then I guess it counts

dont know how u beat him, but good job. a kills a kill. when u say the AC and PS were disabled, do u mean they were taken out? this would mainly reduce weight, although we all know that when the AC is on it is a power hog.

Re: First race in the Teg...

Are you SURE it was a Type-S?

I'd believe it if it was a base RSX, but a Type-S...

You do know DC5 Type-Ss are about as fast as DC2 Type-Rs, right? With about the same top-speeds at 140-145 or so.

Maybe you're right...maybe he backed-off.

wow, good kill, if u say it was a type s, then it was a type s.

its highly unlikely that the guy knew how to drive/didn't want to push his car, because i remember my mod'd gsr couldn't keep up w/ type s' top-end.

they'd pull me like i was their bitch.

maybe he didn't know how to drive it, or he was still breaking it in so he didn't want to push it.

but a kill is a kill

Re: First race in the Teg...

Nice kill.

Wondering: At what MPH are you in when shifting into 5th?

It was a Type-S, at least that is to say the Type-S BADGE was on the rear, and whether it was rice or not I never was able to find out. Could have been, I didn't think of that.

I shifted to 5th pretty early because he had backed off and I was going back to my "economy" gearing so's not to waste as much gas doing 65 on the highway. I think it was at about 4500-5000 once I saw he wasn't gaining I wasn't about to push it, I shifted at each gear (once we "started") at about 6600-6700 right before red line, which appears to be at about 6800-6850 on to 8000 (of course it reads to 7k but goes on about another 1K with out the tac displaying the 8000 RPM marker.)

Oops, wasn't paying attention I posted the RPM's instead of speed I'm tired, sorry. I was at about 110 when I shifted into 5th and was about less than half way through my tac. Registers 150, but I doubt it'll do it right now I would be amazed if it could.

Well I still had 3700 RPM's left in 4th when I shifted to 5th, so then that would have given me another 3xxxK or so...
