5.0 question

I am curious did the 5.0 ever run with a 4R70W(or similar AODE) and was it EEC V OBDII? Looking at replacing the 3.8 in my 96 Cougar and would like to keep the 4R70W.

All 5.0 Fuel-Injected are EEC-IV to my knowledge 4R70W were never put behind 5.0's
