o2 sensor

Does anyone know how many o2 sensors there are on a 97 b4c? I do not have the ability to get under the car right now to look. Thanks.

Re: o2 sensor

TRhe easiest way to determine that is to remember that OBDII checks any and all convertors in the exhaust. That requires two O2 sensors for each cat, one before and one after. A two cat system will therefore require four O2 sensors. There is no hard and fast rule since there are so many exhaust packages for each engine package. Ray

Re: o2 sensor

hey 97copcar, checked the shop manual, from what i can tell, the six cylenders get a three way cat, which has a O2 sensor before and after the cat, while the VIN P motor, the 8 cylender, which i assume you have, is an oxidizing cat, and has a single O2 sensor down stream of the cat. so you should only have one to worry about. but best way to find out, get under it and look around. good luck.

I am going to repo my jack stands on Saturday. I'll crawl under and look. Thanks for your help.
