Angry Tranny Question...

Just dropped a 350 motor and a 700R4 in my 76
She shifts kinda herky and I know I gotta get the torque converter lock-up kit. Does anyone else have experience with a kit like this? Will the tranny shift smoother or just be able to use 1:1 overdrive?

Also, my tranny coolant hose keeps popping off (the connection on the tranny) any ideas what could be causing this? I know the radiator and lines are clean because I flushed them so I'm gonna drop the pan today - I double clamped it but it keeps coming off - hopefully its just a clogged filter or something...

Any help you guys could give me would be much appreciated - thanks!!
