Tranny question.

I have heard about tranny problems from i-club.

Is it only on 2.5RS or WRX as well?

Also what is causing the problem?

Also what is the HP limit that 2.5RS tranny and WRX tranny can take?

IMHO, this "problem" is more of a myth than anything. Yes, some people are having problems with the first gear syncronizer but it is not wide spread AFAIK. And, yes, it is difficult to shift into 1st above 10mph but if you learn how to drive the WRX, you rarely need to shift into first at all except from a stop.

FWIW, My WRX shifts smoothly & easily most of the time. Then sometimes it gets a little tempremental. I'm learning how to rev match which seems to help and is fun to boot!

I've read that the stock tranny can handle up to 280HP but this is misleading, high torque (espically low end) destroys transmissions not power. I haven't heard any max torqe values.
